Ghana Premier League leaders Medeama SC were held to a frustrations draw after a 1-1 draw with newly promoted side Hohoe United on Saturday.
The two teams faced off on matchday eight of the Ghanaian top flight at the Hohoe Stadium.
The home side made a perfect start, taking the lead inside six minutes when Francis Odoom met a teasing cross and calmly finished past Felix Kyei.
Medeama found their rhythm and began to impose themselves on the game. Their pressure finally paid off just before the break when Abdul Salam rose highest to head home the equaliser in the 43rd minute.
After the restart, the champions looked the more likely to win it seeing a larger spell of the possession.
But goalkeeper Kweku Musah had other ideas. The Hohoe shot-stopper delivered a great performance, pulling off a string of fine saves to frustrate Medeama’s attackers and deservedly walk away with the Man of the Match award.
The draw keeps Medeama two points clear at the summit, though Aduana FC could overtake them if they beat Eleven Wonders on Monday.
