Dr. Martin Kolbil Yamborigya has been appointed as the Acting Commissioner of the Domestic Tax Revenue Division of the Ghana Revenue Authority.
His appointment follows the retirement of Edward Appenteng Gyamera who has served in that capacity for more than four years.
The appointment is expected to take effect from November 17th, 2025.
Dr. Martin Kolbil Yamborigya is a distinguished tax administrator and public finance expert with over two decades of progressive experience in Ghana’s revenue administration. He has demonstrated outstanding leadership in domestic tax policy, compliance management, and revenue mobilisation, contributing significantly to the transformation of the Ghana Revenue Authority.
Dr. Yamborigya holds a Doctorate in Business Administration (DBA) and a Master of Applied Business Research from the SBS Swiss Business School. He also possesses a Postgraduate Certificate in Contemporary Management from the Nobel International Business School, Ghana, and an MBA in Project Management from Wisconsin International University College, awarded by the University of Ghana.
He is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants, Ghana (CA Ghana), a Member of the Chartered Institute of Taxation, Ghana (MCIT Ghana), and a Member of the Institute of Directors, Ghana (MIoD GH).
Prior to his appointment as Acting Commissioner, Dr. Yamborigya served in several senior management roles within the GRA. He currently serves as Assistant Commissioner and Head of Tax Audit at the Large Taxpayer Office (LTO), where he led key reforms to strengthen tax compliance, expand the tax net, and modernise domestic tax operations. His visionary leadership and commitment to excellence have earned him high regard within and beyond the Authority.
As Commissioner of the Domestic Tax Revenue Division, Dr. Yamborigya is expected to lead major tax reforms to further strengthen Ghana’s domestic revenue mobilisation and drive national development.
