The Ghana Institute of Architects (GIA) has conveyed its deep sorrow and grief following the heartbreaking helicopter crash that claimed the lives of eight illustrious Ghanaians.
In a statement released today, the association expressed its deepest condolences over the tragic loss of all eight individuals who were on a national assignment.
“We extend our heartfelt condolences to President John Dramani Mahama, the bereaved families, and the entire nation during this time of profound loss,” the statement said.
The GIA honoured the memory of the deceased, listing the names of all eight individuals who perished in the crash:
- Dr Edward Omane Boamah, Minister for Defence
- Alhaji Dr Murtala Mohammed, MP for Tamale Central and Minister for Environment, Science & Technology
- Alhaji Muniru Mohammed Limuna, Acting Deputy National Security Coordinator
- Samuel Sarpong, Vice-Chairman of the National Democratic Congress
- Samuel Aboagye, Deputy Director-General of NADMO
- Squadron Leader Peter Anala of the Ghana Air Force
- Flying Officer Tsum Ampadu of the Ghana Air Force
- Sergeant Ernest Addo of the Ghana Air Force
The GIA called for calm and decorum in the wake of the tragedy. “We urge all to refrain from speculation and to continue showing respect to the memory of the departed and the privacy of their loved ones.
“May the souls of the departed rest in perfect peace,” the statement concluded with a solemn tribute.
