In a press release issued on Tuesday, April 23, the hierarchy of the University has not received official notice nor participated in any engagement regarding the alleged change of name.
“The Vice-Chancellor has neither been invited to nor participated in any meeting or event regarding the renaming of the University”, stated the release signed by the Registrar of HTU, Dr. Christopher Amehoe.
He acknowledged receipt of the letter dated April 20, 2024, which was addressed to the Vice-Chancellor and signed by the Secretary to the Asogli, raising concerns about the alleged change of name of the University.
The Warlord of the Asogli State, Togbe Adze Lakle Howusu XlI, led a delegation of chiefs and people of Asogli to present the letter after a press conference.
“Management has initiated steps to engage with the Asogli Traditional Council to address any concern regarding this matter in the interest of ensuring the peace and progress of Ho Technical University, the Volta Region's premier tertiary institution”, concluded Mr. Amehoe.
