Stonebwoy has been adjudged the Best African Reggae/Dancehall Entertainer at the just ended 38th International Reggae and World Music Awards (IRAWMA).
The ‘Kpo Keke’ hitmaker was nominated alongside his colleagues Shatta Wale and Epixode.
Also in the nomination for that category was Nigerian artistes Patoranking and Grammy-nominated act Burna Boy.
Stonebwoy was praised for his contributions and accomplishment to the Reggae/Dancehall genre.
With the coronavirus outbreak across the world, the award show which was scheduled for March 29 was, however, moved up one week.
IRAWMA was prerecorded, made for TV and Radio broadcast in observation of the Jamaican government’s, social distancing strategy of three to six feet.
The founder of the awards scheme, Ephraim M. Martin, extended a special appreciation to reggae and music fans worldwide who have participated in the voting process.
He stated that due to the existence of the pandemic, the plaques would be given to the winners at a later time.
