After stepping away from music production for several years, Ghanaian broadcaster and music producer Jay Foley has revealed that he has returned to his first love.
Speaking to arts and culture journalist Kwame Dadzie on Joy FM’s Showbiz A-Z on July 11, 2026, Jay Foley said he resumed music production towards the end of last year and is currently working on a special project featuring a number of popular artistes.
“It was just about late last year that I got myself back to music production.
I’ve got something I am working on. Works like my own productions, like music that I have produced. I put a number of popular artistes that I am about to roll out, a special EP just to say ‘thank you’ to myself,” he said.
Jay said the project is his way of celebrating his journey and contributions to Ghana’s music industry after years of working behind the scenes.
“I missed it because people who know me from times past know that I am a producer and I let it go for a couple of years so I went back to it and I am like ‘wow I miss this’,” he mentioned.
Although many Ghanaians know him as a radio and television personality, Jay Foley began his career as a music producer and recording artiste.
He trained under legendary producer Hammer, an experience that laid the foundation for his work in music production before his transition into mainstream broadcasting.
