On March 29, 2025, hundreds of Joy FM’s listeners took part in the Accra High Street Walking Tour organised by the station.
It was the climax of the month-long celebration of Ghana’s culture, heritage and tourism by your Super Station, Joy 99.7FM.
The walking tour started from the Osu Castle, which was once the seat of government. The team and the listeners, accompanied by a brass band, also visited the Arts Centre, Kwame Nkrumah Memorial Park, Makola Market, Ussher Fort, Kingsway Trading Centre, Brazil House and Light House.
The tourists later converged at the Trust Sports Emporium for a kenkey party, and enjoyed good music from DJ Fantastic.
According to the Programmes Manager of Joy FM, Edem Knight-Tay, while the walk was also meant to help exercise the body, it mainly served as an opportunity for people in Accra to know the city better.

This is in tandem with Joy FM’s resolve to promote domestic tourism in Ghana.
A week ago, Joy FM embarked on a three-day tour dubbed ‘Volta Adventure’, from Friday March 21, 2025 to Sunday March 23, 2025.
They toured the Kpando Lakeview Zipline, Mount Gemi, Tafi Atome Monkey Sanctuary, Amedzofe Waterfalls and Canopy Walkway.
At the Volta Serene Hotel where the team and the tourists were accommodated, there were various activities that got them more engaged and entertained. The patrons showcased their dance skills, as a borborbor ensemble treated them to some breathtaking music from the Eweland. There were also a night club session and a movie night.
Before heading back to Accra, they got into Dodi World at Akosombo and had their final dose of fun on the Dodi Princess II. On the boat, they were regaled with soothing live band music, food, and drinks. A week earlier, Joy FM’s Showbiz A-Z held a Ga-themed conversation at the Kwame Nkrumah Memorial Park. The durbar explored the history of the Ga people, and their contribution to the creative economy and tourism.
Throughout the month of March, Joy FM has dedicated its programmes to promoting 99.7% Ghanaian music and culture. The various programmes were also curated with more Ghanaian content. 'Focus on Ghana', a thirty-minutes magazine show, highlighted a lot of historical facts about Ghana, while educating listeners on various aspects of Ghana’s culture, arts and tourism.
Ghana Month on Joy FM was supported by Serene Insurance, Volta Serene Hotel, Woodin, Ekumfi Fruits and Juices and Trust Sports Emporium.
