The prime suspect in the fatal shooting of a military officer at Kasoa in the Central Region, Ben Lord Ababio, has been formally charged with murder and conspiracy to commit murder.
Ben Lord, who claims to be a chief, stands accused of shooting the officer near the Millennium City Police Station.
Since he was put before the court on May 3, 2024, Ben Lord has remained in custody.
Following the completion of police investigations, the police forwarded the case file to the Attorney General’s office for assessment.
After thorough deliberations, the Attorney General has instructed the police to proceed with charges of murder and conspiracy to commit murder against Ben Lord.
In addition, Nana Amoh Kwakye, another individual implicated in the case, faces a charge of conspiracy to commit murder.
The court has adjourned the proceedings until June 20, 2024.
