Koforidua Secondary Technical have progressed to the next stage of the National Science and Maths Quiz (NSMQ) in a heart-racing contest against University Practice SHS and St Charles Minor Seminary.
The Eastern Region school secured the third-last slot in the quarter-final stage.

At the end of Round One, Baffour Tweneboah- Kodua and Precious Uzor Ebube of Koforidua Sec. Tech.hurriedly took an early lead with 12 points.
University Practice SHS and St Charles Minor Seminary secured 9 points and 3 points respectively.

Giving Koforidua Sec. Tech. a run for its money, Joshua Baffour and George Opare Botwe of the Cape Coast-based school leapfrogged the contest in Round Two with 14 points.
Closely behind them was Koforidua Sec. Tech. with 13 points while St Charles Minor Seminary was at the bottom of the pack scored 7 points.

In Round Three of the contest, all three schools answered the 'Problem of the Day' correctly and won the Prudential Life NSMQ Star.
This was an impressive performance as Koforidua Sec. Tech., University Practice SHS and St Charles Minor Seminary tried to outdo one another.

Koforidua Sec. Tech. reclaimed its top position in Round Four and secured 41 points. University Practice SHS could not handle the pressure and scored 32 points.
St Charles Minor Seminary was far from securing a spot in the next stage with 24 points.

At the end of the contest, University Practice SHS and St Charles Minor Seminary lost the race to the next stage of NSMQ with 38 points and 24 points.
