The Kumasi Mayor will on Sunday 26th of January begin the first in a series of public fora aimed at giving residents of Kumasi a chance to air their views and question the developmental agenda of the Mayor and the assembly.
Dubbed “Time with the Mayor, Your Vision my mission”; Mr. Kojo Bonsu will be touring the nine sub-metros of the Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly to meet Chiefs, Imams opinion, leaders, traders, political party representatives, youth groups and the general public.
Kojo Bonsu is expected to officially introduce himself to the people, listen to their concerns and take suggestions in solving educational challenges, sanitation, health and congestion issues.
“I want people from all walks to come, ask questions, and critique my administration constructively. This will help me chart a course that will promote the development of the city in the interest of the people”, he told Luv Fm’s Erastus Asare Donkor.
The move has been welcomed by many who feel sidelined in the developmental agenda of the assembly.
Some Assembly members who spoke to Luv News said the programme will afford their electorate the opportunity to put forward their community concerns.
The first forum will be held at the KNUST old Laundry for residents of the Oforikrom Sub-metro on Sunday January 26th.
Mayor Kojo Bonsu says the programme forms part of a comprehensive programme to rebrand Kumasi and put it at the forefront of development.
