Asante Kotoko forward Kwame Opoku is confident the club will secure silverware this season, insisting that going trophyless is not an option.
Opoku scored a brace and provided an assist as the Porcupine Warriors thrash Dreams FC 4-1 to narrow the gap on league leaders Nations FC.
The in-form striker has now scored 10 goals in all competitions since joining the Porcupine Warriors in December 2024.
Speaking to the media after the match, Opoku expressed strong belief in his team’s chances of ending the season with at least one trophy.
“For the FA Cup, we can’t go trophyless this season, no, it’s not happening,” he said.
“We are hoping that by the end of the season, we’ll lift a trophy. If not the league, then we must win the FA Cup for Asanteman.”
With just three matches remaining in the league, Kotoko are fourth on the table with 54 points, three behind the leaders.
Opoku, who is aiming to add more goals to his tally, will be instrumental in Kotoko’s quest for a domestic double.
The Porcupine Warriors are also set to face Division One side Golden Kicks in the MTN FA Cup final on June 15 at the University of Ghana Stadium, as they chase their 10th title in the competition.
