Former Communications Minister Edward Omane Boamah has reiterated his earlier call on government to implement a lockdown to stop spread of the novel coronavirus.
In a statement Tuesday, Dr. Omane Boamah said the Akufo-Addo administration is already lagging behind in the fight against the pandemic.
“You have waited for the vertical transmission to translate into horizontal transmission,” he said, adding “let us not wait any longer!”
“This morning, Noguchi Memorial Institute for Medical Research and the Trades Union Congress (TUC) have, all, advocated lockdown.
“I pray and hope your government will listen in good faith and act urgently,” he added.
Meanwhile, health officials have confirmed two Covid-19 fatalities in Ghana with 25 cases outstanding.
