The ruling by the Cape Coast court on Wednesday indicated that Member of Parliament-elect for the Assin North Constituency, James Gyakye Quayson cannot hold himself out as the MP-elect for the constituency.
This follows a petition filed by one Michael Ankomah that the MP-elect still held on to his Canadian citizenship at the time he filed to contest in the December polls.
Meanwhile, preparations are underway for the inauguration of the 8th Parliament as the 7th Parliament of the Fourth Republic dissolves at the stroke of midnight after serving their constitutional four-year term.
The new Parliament will also elect a new Speaker and two deputies.
Tonight on PM Express, Ayisha Ibrahim together with guests will look at issues around the injunction and also the inauguration of the 8th Parliament.
Guests on today's panel include Lawyer for the applicant, Frank Davis, Lawyer for the Assin North MP, Abraham Amaliba, and a Private Legal practitioner, Martin Kpebu.
Others are Chief Director, Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs, Dr Evans Aggrey Darku and Former Deputy Speaker, Kenneth Dzirasah.
