Madina MP, Francis Xavier Sosu, has expressed gratitude to a youth group in his constituency, White Chapel, for organising a peace walk on Sunday, November 17.

“On behalf of incoming president John Mahama, I wish to thank the White Chapel group for sensitising the constituency about peace before, during, and after the December 7 election,” he told a large crowd at Madina Zongo.

The MP encouraged the group to engage with other youth groups, known locally as Base, to spread the peace message further.

“More importantly, I urge you all to continue the good work by encouraging people to come out in their numbers to vote on December 7. Every single vote counts, so everyone must come out and exercise their right,” Sosu stated.

The private legal practitioner expressed confidence that the National Democratic Congress (NDC) would secure a decisive victory in both the presidential and parliamentary elections within the constituency.

He cautioned against “skirt-and-blouse” voting, stating that unified votes would strengthen the NDC flagbearer’s position when elected as president.
“Mahama loves the Zongos, and Madina Zongo will be one of the focal areas when the former president assumes office. The Zongos will get their deserved share of the national cake,” Sosu assured the gathering.

Abdul Razak Cissey, Assembly Member and spokesperson for the White Chapel group, also thanked the MP for attending the event.
He urged the youth to prioritise peace as the elections approaches.

“Don’t allow yourselves to be provoked or let anyone incite violence. We stand for peace because we have only one Ghana.

“On election day, go out in your numbers and vote. When it’s time for counting, come out and observe the process,” Cissey advised.
The event was attended by party executives, loyal supporters, and notable figures, including Abdul Salam Zeeba from the United States.
