The Head teacher of the Effiduase Methodist Kindergarten, Doris Sefa, is appealing to the New-Juaben Municipal Assembly and National Disaster Management Organization (NADMO), to as a matter of urgency, pull down the building that had been badly damaged as a result of a fire outbreak, to avoid any accident.
"We want them [Municipal Assembly] or NADMO or anybody, who is ready to help us bring that building down to safe my children", Doris Sefa lamented, when she spoke to Joy News, Tuesday.
A madman, who is said to have been occupying one of the abandoned rooms of the old Kindergarten block of the school started the fire over the weekend, by torching his personal belongings.
People living close to the school near Koforidua in the Eastern region, saw smoke billowing from the building and raised the alarm.
Eastern regional Correspondent, Kofi Siaw, reported that the building, which serves as an office and a store room has about half of its roofing completely burnt, three of its windows have been destroyed by the fire and almost all the office equipment including furniture and books are virtually destroyed by the fire.
The building has subsequently been left with visible deep cracks on its wall, leaving the sides and front elevation hanging.
Teaching and learning are however put on hold at the school as the Madam Janet Agyemang Badu, Regional Manager of Methodist schools in the eastern region is devastated by the damaged caused to the school.
Madam Agyemang Badu will not stop at cautioning pupils to stay away from the building, which has become a death trap due to deep cracks developed on its wall.
