A delegation from the General Council of Assemblies of God, along with the Nyankpen and Wengam families and Cedar Mountain Chapel, visited President John Mahama in Accra to officially inform him of the passing of Deborah Wengam.
The deceased is the mother of Rev. Stephen Wengam, General Superintendent of Assemblies of God, Ghana.

During the visit, the delegation invited President Mahama to the funeral service, which is scheduled to take place on Saturday, January 25, 2025, at the Forecourt of the State House in Accra.
Leading the delegation, Rev. Dr. Godwin Tito Agyei, Assistant General Superintendent of Assemblies of God, Ghana, praised Madam Wengam for her 71 years of dedicated service to the church.

He particularly acknowledged her role in raising a visionary leader like Rev. Wengam, whose contributions have greatly impacted the church.
Rev. Tito Agyei noted that the funeral will draw people from all walks of life, including a significant delegation from the international community.
He also expressed gratitude to President Mahama for his swift visit to offer condolences upon hearing the sad news.

President Mahama commended the late Madam Wengam for her contributions to society, stating that she served her generation well by nurturing a distinguished leader.
He offered his heartfelt condolences to Rev. Wengam and his family, praying for Madam Wengam’s soul to rest in peace.
