Former President John Mahama has joined many others to mourn the loss of Araba Tagoe, a member of the National Executive Committee (NEC) of the National Democratic Congress (NDC).

He described Madam Tagoe as a cherished friend, a stalwart activist of the NDC, and a valued member of NEC.

In a post on Wednesday, August 16, he said her commitment to the NDC was unwavering and her dedication to its ideals was unparalleled.

The NDC flagbearer for election 2024 said Madam Tagoe was a beacon of inspiration, selflessly devoting herself to the advancement of the party's principles and the betterment of the nation.

“Araba laid down her life for the NDC in many ways, and the party will surely miss her,” he said.

Mr Mahama emphasised that the NDC NEC member’s recent bout of illness had cast a shadow of concern among the party.

He added that the party hoped and prayed for her swift recovery and were eagerly awaiting her return but fate had different plans.

“We mourn and extend our deepest sympathies to her family, her son, the Central and Western Region Caucuses of the party and the entire NDC party,” Mr Mahama added.
