Lots of basic school pupils and their parents, as well as teachers, thronged the Trade Fair Centre in Accra, on Republic Day for this year’s Indomie Edufest. The annual event saw over 100 schools from Accra participating in various activities.
Edufest is an academic-based programme that brings pupils from different schools to compete in quiz competition in different subjects such as Science, Religious and Moral Education as well as Social Studies. Other competitive activities that took place include spelling competition, speech presentation and poetry recitals.
Unlike the previous editions, this year’s edition added a choreography dance, dance battles, rap shows among others. The participating schools put up impressive performances to the delight of the many who turned up for the event.
The reigning hip-life artist, Gasmilla was present to trill the patrons to his hit song “Telemo” which got the crowd to dance their hearts out.
The various quiz competitions also saw the participants display their prowess in the subject areas.
Brands Manager at De United Foods Industries Ltd, producers of Indomie Instant Noodles, Shine AkiemTorsoo said the fair affords the pupils the platform to exploit their talents which is a value that the Indomie brand espouses.
He said the company believes in encouraging children to achieve their full potential in both the academic filed and various other talents and will continue to support the fair.
Nathaniel Ekow Morrison, the Chief Executive of Global Media Consult, organisers of the event, explained that the Indomie Edufest is a major platform to inspire, encourage and invigorate the academic experience among the basic school pupils.
He, therefore, encouraged parents to support their wards to participate in order to unearth the potential in them.
Winners of the various competitions received certificates and Indomie products among others as prizes. The fair was powered by Events Empire Ghana Ltd.
