Ghana’s fresh sound is making serious waves worldwide, with a new generation of artists breaking boundaries and turning heads.
Spotify just released its Global Impact List for the first half of 2025, ranking the top 30 most exported Ghanaian songs and Spotify has confirmed the global impact.
The global girl era
Sitting pretty as the most exported Ghanaian song in the first half of 2025 is Moliy’s “Shake It To The Max (FLY) – REMIX”.
Moliy’s rise reflects Ghana’s bold new sound. From BET Awards Pre-Show and Coachella’s Desert Pre-Fest to AfroNation, she’s lighting up global stages and repping Ghana with futuristic flair.
Black Sherif dominates the list
While MOLIY’s anthem opens the door, Black Sherif holds it wide open. With 15 songs on the list, “Blacko” has become a beacon of Ghanaian storytelling and sound experimentation. From the haunting “Lord I’m Amazed” to high-powered collaborations like “Green Light” with Buju Banton, Black Sherif’s presence felt.
Rising voices, big impact
The new wave is rising fast. Olivetheboy, Lasmid, Jubed, and AratheJay are gaining global attention with fresh, rooted Ghanaian rhythms. Olivetheboy lands multiple spots, including “Survivor” and “Screaming Beauty”. Lasmid’s “Olivia” and Jubed’s heartfelt “Ruwa” land globally while AratheJay brings heat with “Fire” featuring Bella Shmurda. Gyakie holds it down for the lovers with “Cheat On You” and “Sankofa”.
“What’s exciting about this list is how diverse and fearless the rising talent is,” says Phiona Okumu, Spotify’s Head of Music for Sub-Saharan Africa. “These artists are blending tradition with modern edge and creating music that speaks to both local roots and global vibes. It’s Ghana’s moment, and this new generation is owning it.”
Below is the list of top 30 Ghanaian songs with the biggest global streaming numbers in the first half of 2025.
