A mother and child have been run over by a car at Santasi Apire in the Ashanti Region.
The two-year-old girl is believed to have died on the spot while her mother is in critical condition.
Eyewitness accounts indicate that the woman, in her 30s, and her daughter, were buying millet porridge, popularly known as "hausa koko" at the joint when the incident happened.
The Koko vendor, however, managed to escape.
The driver of the private saloon vehicle who is said to have been on a driving test allegedly lost control of the vehicle.
She is believed to have lost control of the steering, driving into the porridge stand and running the victims over in the process.
