MTN Ghana has been named the overall top-performing operating company (OPCO) within the MTN Group after clinching the ultimate prize at the 2025 Million Dollar Challenge.
The recognition was announced at the MTN Global Leadership Gathering (GLG) 2026, a high-level forum that brought together senior executives from across the Group to review performance, celebrate innovation and chart strategic priorities for the future.
MTN Ghana’s victory reflects what the Group described as strong market execution, robust financial and operational performance, and the successful scaling of strategic platforms across Fintech, Enterprise and Consumer segments. The company secured a total of six major awards at the challenge.
Among the honours were awards for Connectivity in both the Enterprise and Consumer categories, as well as the Fintech award won by MoMo Ghana.
In addition, Chief Executive Officer of MoMo Ghana, Shaibu Haruna, was named CEO of the Year for Fintech and emerged as first runner-up for Overall CEO of the Year.

Reacting to the achievement, Chief Executive Officer of MTN Ghana, Stephen Blewett, said the accolade was a testament to the dedication and discipline of the company’s workforce.
“This recognition is a powerful endorsement of the relentless commitment, creativity and execution excellence of our teams,” he said.
“Winning the overall Million Dollar Challenge and leading across critical platforms such as Fintech, Enterprise and Consumer shows that MTN Ghana is not only delivering strong results but building sustainable platforms for future growth.”
He added, “I am immensely proud of our people and the discipline with which they continue to deliver on our strategy.”

The GLG 2026 provided an opportunity for MTN leaders to assess progress across the Group, refine strategic direction and reinforce leadership standards required to operate in an increasingly competitive and complex digital environment.
MTN Ghana’s performance at the 2025 Million Dollar Challenge positions the company as a benchmark for excellence within the MTN Group, underlining its commitment to innovation, customer value creation and long-term sustainable growth.
