MTN 21 Days of Y’ello Care kicked off on Friday, June 17, 2022, after a two-year break.
The break was due to the COVID-19 Pandemic.
MTN Y’ello care is an annual employee volunteering project held in all MTN operations. Since its inception in 2007, the initiative has impacted millions of people and communities across the continent.
Over the years, MTN Ghana has undertaken several initiatives under the 21 Days of Y’ello Care project.
In 2017, MTN staff volunteers refurbished the Street Academy building in Accra providing a study area, computers and books for children.
In 2019, it trained over 1,000 youth across the country in bead making, leather works and computer programming and refurbished a dilapidated hostel facility for trainees at the WAG Service Centre at Pantang.
Other activities undertaken by staff in previous years include painting of school buildings, cleaning of beaches, donating items to orphanages, and visit to prisons.
The staff volunteers have also in the past, undertaken blood donation and tree planting exercises.
The 2022 edition is therefore anticipated to take this initiative to a higher level due to the two-year break.
