The Musicians Union of Ghana (MUSIGA) has announced SheRhythms Ghana, the country’s first-ever all-female music festival, as part of its golden jubilee celebrations.
The three-day event will take place from 4th to 6th December 2025 at the Alliance Française in Accra, with performances, collaborations and mentorship sessions dedicated to empowering women in the music industry.
Under the theme “Empowering Her Voice, Amplifying Her Art, Reshaping Her Industry,” the festival will showcase female musicians from Ghana and other countries, offering audiences a variety of genres and live performances. It will also include workshops, masterclasses and mentorship programmes aimed at equipping women with skills in music business, production and performance.
MUSIGA President Bessa Simons said the festival was a long-overdue platform to celebrate women’s artistry. “This is more than a festival. It’s about giving our women the stage, the recognition, and the opportunities they deserve to shine - just like their male counterparts,” he stated.
MUSIGA is partnering with RAM Media Concepts, an events, marketing and branding agency, to deliver the festival. RAM’s Chief Executive, Augustine Mark, described the project as “a platinum platform for women to showcase their talent, build networks, and connect with the global stage.”
The official launch of SheRhythms Ghana is scheduled for 29th August 2025 at the Alliance Française, where details of the programme and performers will be unveiled.
Organisers say they hope the festival will grow into a signature event on Ghana’s cultural calendar, attracting performers from across Africa and the world while reshaping conversations about women in music.
