Some Assembly Members in the Nandom municipality have endorsed the retention of Interior Ambrose Dery as the parliamentary candidate of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the constituency.
The move by 31 out of the 36 members of the Assembly came on the heels of popular acclamation by delegates of the party on Saturday after he was the sole candidate to have penciled his name for the NPP Primary in the Nandom constituency.

Analecta Viiru Naab cited examples of projects and programmes that have completed and some ongoing in the municipality by the government through the instrumentality of the Interior Minister, Ambrose Dery to justify their overwhelming endorsement.

''Looking at the achievements listed above ladies and gentlemen, it is very clear that the people of Nandom are in good business with the Hon. Ambrose Dery in charge. The people of Nandom have been highly expectant since the beginning of the Fourth Republic. It is refreshing to note that our long-held expectation is being met through the efforts of our hard-working and Development oriented Member of Parliament - Ambrose Dery,'' the group added.
The 31 Assembly members declared their unflinching and unwavering support behind the interior minister Ambrose Dery and president Akufo Addo for the continuous and monumental development of the Nandom Municipality now and into the future.
They also used the opportunity to congratulate the Municipal Chief Executive of Nandom, Dr Thaddeus Arkum Aasoglenang, who has appropriately partnered the interior minister as the representative President Akufo-Addo.
