Government has confirmed that Local government Minister, Julius Debrah, is the new Chief of Staff.
He replaces Mr. Douglas Propser Kweku Bani who has been appointed Ambassador Extraordinaire and Plenipotentiary.
Government announced the new changes Monday.
A press release from the presidency two weeks ago promised some changes at the seat of government.
That press release was confirming the exit of then Executive Secretary to the President, Dr. Raymond Atuguba, and Communications Advisor, Ben Dotsei Malor, from government.
Myjoyonline had carried a story saying on authority that the two plus Chief of Staff Prosper Bani were set to leave the Flagstaff House.
The press release from government said nothing about Mr. Bani but sources close the presidency Sunday told Myjoyonline.com that this is the end of the road for the reserved politician.
His place will now be taken by Julius Debrah whose rise, in all fairness, has been meteoric.
Mr. Debrah was the Eastern Regional Chairman of the governing National Democratic Congress not too long ago. He was appointed head of the Ghana Tourist Board and later as Eastern Regional Minister.
He gained national prominence in 2014 when he was appointed Local Government Minister.
His relentless campaign against the filth in the country's cities, towns and villages, endeared him to many traditional and opinion leaders across the country.
Mr. Debrah has proven to have vast organisational skills and abilities.
It remains to be seen whether his experience will help bring stability and order at the presidency which was said to be chaotic under the outgoing Chief of Staff.
The new Chief of Staff will be deputised by Mr. Jonny Osei Kofi, a grassroots NDC member who served as government appointee in the Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly in 2013.
Mr. Osei Kofi, whilst lecturing at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, was appointed as a sub-committee member and served on the development planning sub-committee of the assembly.
He spent just a little over a year there before he was appointed as deputy Minister for Water Resources, Works and Housing in June 2014.
Less than a year on, he is now a Deputy Chief of Staff, another case of meteoric rise in politics.
A press release from the presidency issued this morning, Monday, February 16, 2015, said that National Security Advisor, William K. Aboah has been reassigned as Adviser responsible for the restructuring of NACOB into a Commission.
He will also assume the Chairmanship of the NACOB when the Board is constituted. Baba Issifu Kamara, a Senior Adviser for Special Duties is the new National Security Adviser.
Alhaji Baba Issifu Kamara is the new National Security Advisor.
The President expects the new appointees to be committed to the task of managing the affairs of the Office of the President in order to realize his vision for the economic transformation of Ghana.
