A joint intelligence-led police operation has resulted in the capture of a notorious 25-year-old armed robbery suspect, Seth Tetteh, who operates under the alias 'Wonder'.
Tetteh, believed to be a ringleader of a robbery syndicate operating across Ashaiman and its environs, was apprehended on Sunday, November 30, 2025.
The successful arrest marks a significant victory for the Tema Police Command in its ongoing efforts to curb violent crime in the area.
The suspect was detained around 3:00 p.m. near the Ashaiman China Mall area. The operation was a coordinated effort between the Atadeka Police Patrol Team and the Ashaiman Police Intelligence Directorate
Wonder is known to be a highly active criminal, implicated in a range of violent activities, including residential robbery, street robbery, and industrial robbery.
His capture is expected to significantly disrupt criminal activities targeting businesses and residents in the municipality.
Police confirmed that Wonder was the mastermind and leader of a recent armed robbery that targeted a concrete yard factory.
He led a gang of two on a motorbike during the operation, holding victims at gunpoint and robbing them of an unspecified sum of money.
Tetteh's arrest follows the earlier detention of his two accomplices, who are already facing justice.
Police Intelligence led to the arrest of his two accomplices, who were identified by the victims.
They are currently on remand, standing trial at the Ashaiman Circuit Court.
Following the apprehension of the gang leader, the Tema Police Command issued a stern warning to the public regarding the handling of stolen property.
The statement specifically addressed individuals who purchase stolen electronic devices, such as mobile phones, often sold cheaply by criminal syndicates.
"Police is using this medium to caution receivers of stolen phones, as their arrest has legal consequences for dishonestly receiving."
The Police further extended their gratitude to the top hierarchy for supporting their operations.
