The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has commiserated with the family of the Member of Parliament for Mfantseman Constituency Ekow Quansah Hayford.
The NPP MP was shot dead by assailants at the Abeadze Dominase – Abeadze Duadzi – Mankessim Road on his return from a campaign trip.
He is believed to have been attacked at about 1:00 am Friday morning by 6 armed highway robbers.
The development has received wide condemnation with calls on the security agencies to get to the bottom of the matter and get the culprits to face the law.
The national body of the party has added its voice to the cause while expressing its shock at the incident.
“On behalf of the leadership of our great Party, I send our sincere condolences to the family and the constituency and assure them of our unflinching support in this hard time,” Freddie Blay said in a communique.
The statement signed by its National Chairman on Friday further read; “This is a sad day for the party and the country as a whole.”
“We call on the law enforcement agencies to as a matter of urgency investigate and bring perpetrators of this cruel act to book," the NPP said.
Meanwhile, the Inspector-General of Police (IGP), James Oppong-Boanuh has placed a ¢20,000 bounty on the killers of the incumbent MP for Mfantseman Constituency, Ekow Quansah Hayford.

In a statement issued by the Public Relations Directorate of the Service and signed by Supt of Police Sheila Kesse Abayie-Buckman, the Service said the money will only be given for credible information that will lead to the arrest of the perpetrators.
