President Akufo-Addo has condemned this weekend's clash that occurred between supporters of the New Patriotic Party and the National Democratic Congress in the Odododiodio Constituency.
According to the President, any act of violence will not be tolerated especially as the country heads to the polls this December.
For him, people who resort to violence do not have a message or any good thing to offer Ghanaians.
His comments follow a peace walk in Jamestown on Sunday morning that turned violent after party supporters of the 2 main parties clashed.
Supporters of the NPP and NDC in a video making the rounds on social media were seen throwing bottles and hurling stones and insults at each other in the Odododiodio constituency.
Addressing a durbar organised by the Ga Traditional Council at Jamestown as part of his tour of the Greater Accra Region, President Akufo-Addo called on all persons to reject any form of electoral violence before, during and after the general elections.
As an example of peaceful democratic rule in Africa, he noted that Ghana needs to preserve and protect its reputation.
Speaking to the traditional authorities, NPP Parliamentary Candidate for the constituency, Nii Lante Bannerman pledged to promote peace and appealed to his opponent to do same.
President Akufo-Addo further solicited for the support of the people of Jamestown to continue the good work started by his administration.
Noting that chiefs are not to partake in partisan politics, Akufo-Addo, however, urged them to vote for him and NPP's Parliamentary candidate, Nii Lante Bannerman in the upcoming elections.
