The Children’s Support Fund, established to cater for the welfare of children who lost their parents in the tragic 6 August 2025 helicopter crash, has so far received donations totalling GH¢6,583,600.00 and US$20,000.00.
The contributions, received between 1 September and 11 September, came from a mix of corporate bodies, institutions and individual philanthropists.
Among the donors acknowledged are NIB Ghana, Keda Ghana Ceramics Limited, Chase Group Foundation, MTN Ghana, KGL Technology and Ghana Commercial Bank. Individual supporters such as Cynthia Naa Odotey, Nana Victoria Akyaa Afriyie-Abrokwa, Kay Simmon, Charles Incoom, and media house Dela Radio also contributed to the initiative.
Coordinator of the Fund and Senior Presidential Advisor on Governmental Affairs, Dr Valerie Sawyerr, expressed gratitude to all who have responded to the call.
“This show of solidarity demonstrates that Ghanaians and institutions alike are committed to securing a future for the children left behind by this tragedy,” she said.
Dr Sawyerr encouraged further donations, noting that contributions can be made through Stanbic Bank Ghana Limited accounts at Stanbic Heights Branch in Accra, or via mobile money platforms.
“Every cedi and dollar counts towards ensuring that these children do not only survive but thrive,” she emphasised.
