Gender, Children and Social Protection Minister, Nana Oye Lithur, has appeared before the Justice Samuel Kofi Date-Bah Committee to respond to her alleged involvement in a recent Supreme Court judgement on the election petition.
The committee was set up by the Chief Justice Georgina Theodora Wood to investigate suggestions on a leaked tape in which former Deputy Communications Minister, Victoria Hamah said that the Gender Minister may have played a role in the outcome of the election petition.
Anny Osabutey, who was at the precincts of the Committee sitting, reported that the meeting was held in camera.
Nana Oye Lithur would not speak to the media on what transpired during the meeting, Anny Osabutey reported, but she had publicly denied any involvement in the election petition.
The Committee chairman, Kofi Date-Baah was also tight-lipped on the matter. He would not say what the next line of action would be for Victoria Hamah who failed to show up after she was invited.
On the other hand, the General Secretary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), who petitioned the Chief Justice to investigate the content of the leaked tape told Osabutey, he was happy with the proceedings.
