Parliament of Ghana, under the auspices of the Speaker Alban Sumana Kingsford Bagbin, will tomorrow, Thursday 12th February, 2026, officially launch its Corporate Strategic Plan (2026–2030) at the Justice D.F. Annan Auditorium in Parliament House, Accra.

According to a press statement issued on Wednesday, February 11, the five-year strategic plan is designed to serve as a comprehensive blueprint to guide the work of Parliament towards greater efficiency, stronger oversight and improved public service delivery.

It reflects the institution’s renewed commitment to deepening democratic governance, enhancing transparency and strengthening accountability.

"The five-year strategic plan serves as a blueprint to guide Parliament's work towards a more efficient, robust oversight and improved public service delivery, that reflects Parliament's commitment to deepening democracy, enhancing transparency and accountability," the statement read.

The strategic plan envisions an inclusive and proactive Parliament grounded firmly in constitutional principles.

It is expected to promote evidence-based decision-making and ensure that parliamentary processes and outcomes are aligned with Ghana’s national development priorities, as well as global frameworks such as the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and the African Union’s Agenda 2063.

The document sets out Parliament’s institutional goals and operational priorities for the next five years, with a focus on improving legislative effectiveness, reinforcing executive oversight, enhancing stakeholder engagement and modernising parliamentary administration.

Officials describe the launch as a significant milestone in Parliament’s ongoing efforts to serve the people of Ghana more effectively, responsibly and with professionalism and integrity.

It is also seen as part of broader reforms aimed at strengthening public trust in democratic institutions.

The event is expected to bring together Members of Parliament, development partners, civil society organisations, representatives of the media and other key stakeholders in governance and public policy.

Parliament has invited all Ghanaians to engage with the institution as it works to translate the strategic objectives outlined in the plan into measurable and tangible outcomes over the next five years.
