The Okuapemhene, Oseadeeyo Kwasi Akuffo III, has strongly advised Dr Matthew Opoku Prempeh, also known as Napo, to diligently work towards ensuring the success of Dr Mahamudu Bawumia.
He emphasised the importance of Napo fulfilling the responsibilities associated with his role as the NPP’s running mate in the upcoming election.
Oseadeeyo Kwasi Akuffo III explained that such efforts would help consolidate and build upon the achievements of the Akufo-Addo/Bawumia administration, paving the way for continued progress during the Bawumia/Napo era.
He noted that President Akufo-Addo has made significant strides that will become more apparent to Ghanaians over time.
The traditional leader urged Napo and his team to communicate these achievements to the public effectively to garner strong support for the NPP in the forthcoming elections.
He made these comments when Dr Matthew Opoku Prempeh visited his residence in Akropong on Thursday, July 25.
Furthermore, Oseadeeyo Kwasi Akuffo III praised the initiative to integrate chieftaincy and religious leadership into the nation’s development agenda, a move led by Dr Bawumia and supported by Dr Prempeh.
He commended the NPP candidates for seeking the blessings and guidance of traditional and religious leaders, highlighting this as a testament to their respect for tradition and humility.
The Okuapemhene concluded by encouraging Ghanaians to vote massively for the NPP, emphasising the significance of the upcoming elections for the country's future.
“I know you are humble, judging from your royal background. All we are looking for from you is to be forthright and candid in all your dealings. If you have accepted being the running mate of Dr Bawumia, then you have to be his partner to do all the necessary work for him to succeed,” he noted.
