The Upper East Regional Police Command has arrested four suspects and seized drugs and gaming machines during a targeted swoop in Paga aimed at dismantling criminal hideouts and curbing suspected drug peddling activities.
The operation, carried out on Thursday, December 18, 2025, led to the arrest of Kofi Boateng, Eric Owusu, and Godwin Agosa, all porters, together with Abdul Aziz Bukari, a driver’s mate.

The suspects were picked up at different locations along the Paga border following intelligence-led police action.
During the exercise, officers retrieved several exhibits believed to be linked to criminal activities. These included eight jackpot gaming machines, 13 rolls of dried leaves suspected to be Indian hemp, three mobile phones, three pairs of scissors, three lighters, a power bank, an empty phone case, and an amount of twenty-five Ghana cedis.

Police say the operation forms part of ongoing efforts to clamp down on illicit activities, particularly drug trafficking and unlawful gaming, within border communities in the Upper East Region.
The suspects are currently in police custody, assisting with investigations. The Police Command has indicated that those found culpable will be arraigned before the court to face the full rigours of the law.

The Ghana Police Service has reiterated its commitment to maintaining law and order and urged residents to continue cooperating.
