The police, acting on a tip-off, has arrested a taxi driver who was transporting suspected narcotics.
He was intercepted with the taxicab, which was travelling from Dzolokpuita in the Ho West District towards Ho.

According to the police, they found 37 parcels containing dried leaves suspected to be marijuana beneath the back seat during a search.
The driver, identified by the police as Innocent Kpeglo, a 36-year-old man, was subsequently arrested and placed in custody.
The vehicle, an Opel taxicab, with registration number CR 675-12 has also been impounded.
Deputy Superintendent of Police in-charge of Ho West District, Rockson Gyasi, confirmed the arrest of Kpeglo to the Graphic Online hours after the arrest.

He said after receiving the tip-off, a team was swiftly mobilized to carry out an operation to find the vehicle carrying the contraband.
DSP Gyasi said at about 05:57 hours the vehicle appeared on the road and the driver, upon seeing the policemen, pulled up and opened the bonnet as though the vehicle had developed a fault.
When the policemen approached him, Kpeglo readily told them he was carrying the narcotics substances to someone in Aflao.
He then offered a bribe of GH¢5000 to the police to end the matter, according to DSP Gyasi.

However, the police rejected the bribe and sent him to the Anyirawase Police Station to carry out a thorough search on the vehicle, leading to the discovery of the items, DSP Gyasi told Graphic Online.
He said the suspect, who was brought to the Volta Regional Police Headquarters in Ho, later in the day, was being processed for court on a charge of possessing narcotic substances.
