Humanitarian NGO, Patriotic Professionals Ghana  (PPG) has donated cash to 167 women at Hobor in the Ga West district of the Greater Accra Region to start a business.

The donation was in fulfilment of a promise by the NGO to provide the women with startup capital after they had undergone a livelihood empowerment training organised by the NGO under the auspices of the NPP parliamentary candidate for Obom/Domeabra Constituency, Baba Darison.

The 167 women were trained in making liquid soap, detergents, antiseptic, shampoo and a host of products.

Donating the cash to the women at Hobor, Executive Director of the group, Eric Nartey Yeboah, indicated that this was the second step in alleviating the poverty of the women, the first being the training programme.

He added that their team of management experts would soon be dispatched to the town to help them manage their businesses.

“This programme is a three-step programme, we give the training, provide startup capital and also help with management advice. We have done the first two, in few weeks another team will be here to train you on how to manage your business, they would keep a constant touch with you until your business grows,” Eric Nartey Yeboah told the beneficiaries.

He revealed that his group will soon touch all corners of Ghana with similar assistance.

Madam Tina, the NPP women organiser for Obom/Domeabra constituency, who is also the coordinator for the trained women, was thankful to PPG for the great work done. According to her, this is the first time such a programme has been organised in the constituency.

“We are abandoned, no one knows about us, we have no one to lean on, no one thinks about the plights of the people here, so PPG your coming here is a big surprise,” she.

The 167 women were grateful to PPG for the kind gesture.

Patriotic Professional Ghana-PPG is a humanitarian NGO with membership from all professions. So far the group has organised health screening and livelihood empowerment programmes in about 12 constituencies across Ghana.
