Government has initiated the refurbishment of key roads in various communities within the Ejisu Municipality, with a commitment to ensure the timely completion of these projects.
Francis Asenso Boakye, the Roads and Highways Minister, led a team from the ministry to inspect the ongoing projects on Thursday, April 18.
During the inspection, he refuted claims suggesting that the projects were initiated solely due to the upcoming by-election in the area.

According to the Ministry, approximately 32 road infrastructure projects are underway within the Ejisu Constituency, with work being carried out by various departments including Urban, Feeder, and Highway Departments.
The Minister emphasised that these contracts were awarded within the past three months, before the demise of the Ejisu MP, John Ampontuah Kumah.
He reiterated that the construction works are not exclusively tied to the upcoming by-election in the Constituency.
Mr Boakye stressed the government's commitment to improving infrastructure across the country, including the Ejisu Municipality, as part of its broader development agenda.

The Bantama MP assured residents that the rehabilitation of these roads aims to enhance connectivity, safety, and socio-economic development within the area.
“Currently, about 32 projects are going on in the municipality, these projects include urban roads, Ghana Highway authority, and Feeder roads projects. I’m satisfied with the work going on, the contractors are some of the best we have."

“I’m confident they will continue to work very hard so that we can complete the project as scheduled. None of these projects was awarded in the last three months.
"These are not by-election projects, for the past three years, some of the projects have been going on. The MP who passed on was instrumental in making sure that these projects were designed and constructed.
"Rest assured; these are not by-election projects; these are normal projects the ministry is implementing," he said.
Contractors are presently engaged in executing projects situated in communities such as Achiakrom, Abankro, Donyina, Onwe, and Adako Jachie.
