The Central Regional Secretariat of the Ghana Football Association (GFA) has threatened to close down any league centres where violence is perpetrated in order to bring sanity into the sport.
Mr Beresford Amui-Mensah Jnr, Regional Sports Development Officer, who gave the warning, expressed worry over the high incidence of rowdyism, which characterized most Second Division League matches in the region.
The Regional Sports Development Officer said this at the first ordinary meeting of the Regional Football Association (RFA) at Cape Coast on Tuesday.
Earlier, Mr Mathew Doe, Chairman of the RFA announced that the Division Two soccer league will commence in November 2007 and that even though about 60 clubs have expressed desire to participate in the competition, only 23 clubs have fully registered.
Mr Doe therefore advised the clubs which have not as yet paid their affiliation fees and registered to do so before the next meeting.
The meeting discussed among others things the modalities of the league and appealed to referees and match commissioners to submit their reports on time for scrutiny.
