Exactly a week after the parliamentary and presidential elections, a cross-section of Ghanaians are yet to fully comprehend what led to the defeat of some of the incumbent Members of Parliament.
At least 28 incumbent New Patriotic Party (NPP) legislators lost their parliamentary seats in Monday’s elections.
Varied reasons have been suggested with many particularly intrigued by the dynamics that may have led to the exit of Ledzokuku MP, Dr Benard Okoe Boye.
The National Democratic Congress (NDC) Parliamentary Candidate Benjamin Ayiku Narteh beat the NPP's Okoe Boye by a margin of 1,866 votes.
In total, at least 108 out of the 275 members of the 7th Parliament will not return to the House in the 8th Parliament.
But on Monday, social media users expressed their views on the Deputy Health Minister's defeat despite what some say is his immense development to the historical swing constituency.
Over 100k votes in Ledzokuku but we are using views of less than 100 to prove they voted out Okoe Boye who we non constituents think was doing well

Ppl vote on a myriad of issues and the earlier we start respecting that, the better
These same ppl voted skirt n blouse in 2016
Please don’t go and tell Ledzokuku people that you constructed roads oooo or hospital, the constituents will give you the history of the road, who started it, why it stalled and that all previous MPS did and they still voted them out.

🙏🏿
Its hypocrisy that will make you mock Ledzokuku people for changing MPs and act like Adenta doesn't do same. Vote for whatever reason you want to, and turn around to attack others for voting for their choice. pic.twitter.com/3cL3crZ2jM

One reason for which Dr. Okoe Boye lost his seat according to the constituents is that, he doesn't attend naming ceremonies and funerals and even when he does his contributions are small.

Ei! Ghana! When...
The people of Teshie made their choice, you people should let them rest.

Dr. Okoe boye did well for the people of Ledzokuku than all the MP’s in sekunde/ Takoradi did for the constituencies

The sekunde MP is always appearing on TV and radio 📻 as if he is a journalist 🤣🤣🤣🤣

In 2016, JM won by less than 1k votes. Okoe Boye swinged about 2k votes to win the parliamentary. It means even NDC people like the guy. The NDC is just stronger there especially when they turn out well. So Okoe Boye would've stood a better chance if turn out was low

The Teshie people say ebi bow tie p3 Oko Boye know wear. 😂

Even if what they wanted was a ball of kenkey or even loaf of bread give them before you add what you think it best for them.
Don’t think what they want is not necessary but you want to bring development.

Teshie people took food from Sena's house everyday and still voted her out. No be you Okoe Boye you go share rice without oil and pepper.

I mean, how dare you?
These my Teshie people, if you don't show up at "kpogyiem)" as MP aa, they'll give you marching orders😅😅😅
