Leading telecommunications giant, Airtel Ghana has organized a motivational mentorship seminar for students of the Kinder Paradise Home at Prampram near Accra.
The seminar was organized as part of Airtel’s employee voluntarism initiative, 'Make Your Change', to mentor and inspire the young students to make good choices in their education, carrier paths and professions.
Speaking at the seminar Director of Towerco at Airtel Ghana, Hilary Denise Arko-Dadzi said engaging, inspiring and challenging young students to develop aspirations and plan proactively for their future is what every parent should endeavor to do while instilling hope and positive thinking that could motivate them to learn continuously and work for a better life.
“Airtel Ghana is a believer in the power of potential of every person, we do not only have this as our brand promise but we greatly invest in people of all ages and backgrounds with the aim of unleashing their potential.
"This mentorship program is one of the many initiatives that have been birthed out of our belief in people which aims at helping them discover their interests, develop their strengths and guide them to make informed education and career choices to positively impact their future. “
After an exciting and interactive session with the students they each received learning and stationery materials to the students bringing joy and excitement to their faces.
A supervisor of the school, Mr. Eric Duodu in appreciation said, “we are very impressed with what has gone on here today and we want to say a big thank you to Airtel Ghana who have put together this very a resourceful seminar for the students. We are very much grateful and we believe that the company will come back again to support us in what we are doing here for these children”.
Kinder Paradise is a non-governmental organization that supports and houses children from the streets and orphans by covering their fees and helping them to further their education into vocational training, secondary school, colleges and universities.
The home also runs a school and takes care of more than 150 children with the aim of re-integrating them into society as independent and responsible citizens.
Airtel’s “Make Your Change” initiative is one of the Company’s Corporate Social Responsibility initiatives which provide a platform for its employees to identify challenges in their various communities and provide solutions to them.
It was built on the company’s strong determination to serve communities in which it operates.
