The Deputy Managing Director of Ghana Post Company Limited, Stephen Kingsley Bennieh, has extended a generous hand of support to vulnerable residents of the Bibiani-Anhwiaso-Bekwai Municipality.
The beneficiaries include widows, widowers, and members of the Happy Family Group.
The philanthropic gesture by the private legal practitioner took place during the Christmas festivities as a show of compassion and reaffirmation of community, service and leadership.
The event, filled with emotion, unity, and appreciation, saw scores of beneficiaries receive critical support at a time many described as one of the most difficult periods of their lives.
The donation included bags of rice, gallons of Frytol cooking oil, canned mackerel, and an undisclosed amount of cash support, all aimed at easing the economic pressures on widows and widowers who often carry the burden of family responsibilities alone.
Speaking on behalf of Mr Bennieh, Mr. Yaw Marfo conveyed the lawyer's deep appreciation for the dedication and sacrifices of NDC party loyalists — particularly during the 2024 general elections.
“Lawyer Stephen Kingsley Bennieh believes in appreciating commitment and standing firmly with the people,” Mr. Marfo said. “This gesture is a simple but meaningful way of saying thank you to those who sacrificed their time, energy, and resources for the party and the wider community.”
According to Mr. Marfo, this act of generosity is just one of many examples of Mr Bennieh’s enduring commitment to grassroots development and social welfare.
“He understands the daily struggles faced by ordinary people, particularly widows and widowers who often shoulder responsibilities alone... His compassion and willingness to uplift others have always been evident, and this is just one of the many ways he gives back to society,” Mr. Marfo emphasised.
The impact of the initiative was reflected in the words and emotions of the recipients. Many shared heartfelt testimonies, expressing how the support had breathed new life into their homes.
Madam Sarah Kwarteng from Anhwiaso, overwhelmed with emotion, narrated:
“Life has been extremely difficult for me and my children, especially after losing my husband. This support has lifted a huge burden from my shoulders. Lawyer Bennieh has truly put a smile on my face and hope in my heart. May God bless him for remembering us.”
Amariya Nafisatu Adama from Awaso Kanayerebo also remarked: “Beyond the items, this gesture has restored our dignity and reminded us that we are not forgotten. We feel part of the community again.”
Mr. Joseph Nkansah from Akaasu added: “Widows and widowers are often forgotten in society. Today, we feel seen, valued, and respected. This act of kindness gives us the strength to keep pushing forward despite our challenges.”
Chairman of the Happy Family Group, Mr. Hamidu Issaka, speaking on behalf of the beneficiaries, commended Mr Bennieh’s selflessness and leadership.
“Lawyer Bennieh has once again demonstrated what true leadership looks like — leadership rooted in service and compassion. This support will go a long way in improving the lives of our members and strengthening unity within our group. We are deeply grateful and pledge our continued support,” Mr Issaka stated.
Other voices of gratitude included:
Maame Elizabeth Adjei from Sefwi Bekwai Post Office Square, who prayed fervently for blessings upon Lawyer Bennieh.
Amariya Salamatu Alidu from Aboduabo, who described the moment as “a rare act of kindness that has brought joy and renewed confidence.”
