A tragic road accident on the Bole–Damongo highway has resulted in the death of a young man and his mother, sending shockwaves through the local community.
The victims, identified as 23-year-old Dakurah Eyilisun and his mother, Alice Eyilisun, were involved in the fatal crash on Saturday, 31st May 2025, near the Damongo Municipal Assembly in the Savannah Region.
Eyewitnesses reported that a bus travelling from Bole to Tamale veered into the path of the motorbike carrying the two victims along the roadside.

The collision was described as forceful, leading to the immediate death of the younger Eyilisun at the scene.
His mother sustained critical injuries in the crash and was rushed to hospital for emergency treatment.
Chief Inspector Grace Odurowaa Boateng, speaking to Channel One TV, confirmed the incident and stated that Dakurah was pronounced dead on arrival at the hospital.
“The young man succumbed to his injuries before medical personnel could attend to him,” she said.
Alice Eyilisun was initially admitted to the St. Anne Catholic Hospital in Damongo in critical condition. Despite the efforts of medical staff, she later passed away due to the severity of her injuries.
