TRIBUTE BY THE UNIVERSITY OF GHANA ALUMNI ASSOCIATION TO THE LATE PROFESSOR MARIAN EWURAMA ADDY
The University of Ghana Alumni Association has received with profound sadness and deep grief the passing away of another honoured and dedicated Alumna of the University of Ghana, Prof Marian Ewurama Addy at a time when the University of Ghana Alumni Association in conjunction with the University of Ghana has just celebrated its 65th Anniversary.
Prof Marian Ewurama Addy has paid her dues to the university as a true Alumna evidenced in dedicating more than 30 years of her youthful life in paying back to the University the investment that the University made in her as a young woman.
Her tenacity in treading an area which then was considered by many as a “no go area for women” shows the kind of resilience she had. She is indeed a role model to all young women who are aspiring to enter the science field.
As we mourn her, we at the same time celebrate her as a shining example of what we, the University of Ghana Alumni Association, stand for. We therefore urge all Alumni of the University to stand firmly with the family especially the husband and children to honour and celebrate her.
May the Soul of PROFESSSOR MARIAN EWURAMA rest in perfect peace. DAMIRIFA DUE! DUE NE AMANEHUNU
Issued on behalf of the University of Ghana alumni Association,
Paa Kwesi Yankey, Chairman
