The UG Corporate Football League continued to deliver thrilling action as Match Week 3 saw notable appearances from former Black Stars players Emmanuel Agyemang-Badu, Samuel Inkoom, and Jordan Opoku.

Emmanuel Agyemang-Badu demonstrated his experience as GNPC secured a comfortable 2-0 victory over College of Education. The former Black Stars midfielder was pivotal in controlling the tempo, with his precise passing and tactical awareness dictating the flow of the game.

GNPC’s well-structured play ensured they took all three points in a solid team performance.

Despite the inventive brilliance of Jordan Opoku, College of Humanities fell narrowly to Ghana Armed Forces Sports Club (GAFOSC) with a 2-1 defeat. Opoku, who has long been admired for his playmaking ability, was at the heart of most attacking moves for his side. However, GAFOSC’s resilience and clinical finishing ultimately sealed the win. Opoku’s presence was nonetheless influential as he orchestrated much of his side’s attacking play.

Meanwhile, it was a tough day for former Black Stars right-back Samuel Inkoom and his Telecel Ghana side, as they were thoroughly beaten 4-0 by Union Ghana.

Inkoom, renowned for his defensive expertise, was kept busy throughout the match as Union Ghana applied constant pressure and capitalized on nearly every opportunity. Despite his individual efforts, Telecel lacked the cohesion needed to resist Union’s onslaught, leaving them with much to work on before the next round of fixtures.

With Match Week 3 now concluded, attention turns to the upcoming fixtures where teams will look to regroup and build momentum. The competition continues to offer exciting action as corporate teams battle for supremacy in the UG Corporate Football League.

The next round of games will come off this Friday, 14th March 2025, at 5 pm at the University of Ghana Stadium.
