One person has been arrested in connection with the murder of a 32-year-old bank worker at her home at Baastona on the Spintex road in Accra, Ghana.
Rosemond Nyampong who worked with Stanbic Bank and lived alone had not been seen at work or in public for days prompting her colleagues and family members to begin a frantic search for her.
She was subsequently found dead in her room on November 21, 2013. Her mouth had been taped and there were blood stains on her and in the room.
Sakumono District Police Commander Superinendent Alex Kojo Wowolor confirmed Rosemond Nyampong's murder to Joy News. He said an autopsy report shows that the deceased was strangled.
"We've made an arrest, we are still going on with the investigations", he said.
A family elder, Mr Sampson Amoah Nyampong, said about 1 p.m. on that day, friends contacted the family to inquire about Ms Nyampong, who, until her death, worked in the Credit Department at Stanbic bank’s head office.

After efforts to reach Ms Nyampong proved futile, her family members contacted the police for permission to break into her house.
“When we entered the compound, we found blood there and when we broke into the house we found her in a pool of blood in her kitchen,” Mr Nyampong said.
Ms Nyampong was found dead in her office attire, suggesting that she was dressed up for work when she was killed.
There were no visible marks on her.
Ms Nyampong's family believes she was dragged into her kitchen after she was murdered outside her house, located at Kotobabi Number 2, behind the Manet Cottage.
Her laptop, two mobile phones, television set, sound system and a Toyota Yaris, with Registration Number GT 5133 10, are all missing.
Family members said the incident had been a "nightmare" for them and demanded answers.
Meanwhile, the deceased will be buried on Saturday, December 14 at the Osu cemetery in Accra.
