The New Patriotic Party's (NPP) parliamentary candidate for Asuogyaman, Pius Enam Hadzide, has promised to help his constituents travel to the United States of America if he is elected in the 2024 general elections.
The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the National Youth Authority called on his constituents to vote massively for him in the upcoming December 7 polls with a helping hand to the USA for the 2026 FIFA World Cup in mind.
Hadzide made the statement during a campaign event in the constituency on Tuesday, September 10.
The former Deputy Sports Minister lauded his expertise and experience in the sports industry as a means to help the youth in his constituency be at the global showpiece.
He also revealed he helped Ghanaians travel to Australia in the past and hence is capable of providing a similar avenue for his people when voted into power.
"If you, Nananom, desire for your children to travel to America to work and send money back home, or if you are a young person eager to explore opportunities abroad, I promise to support you when I become MP," said Hadzide.
While serving as Deputy Minister of Youth and Sports, he was caught up in the Australian Visa scandal. The controversy involved several Ghanaian nationals who allegedly pretended to be journalists in order to secure visas and attend the Commonwealth Games in Australia.
Although Hadzide was suspended during the investigation, he was later cleared of any wrongdoing and reinstated by President Nana Akufo-Addo.
