MP for the Ho West, Emmanuel Kwesi Bedzrah has described as a great loss, the death of former President Jerry John Rawlings.
Mr Bedzrah who expressed shock over the sudden demise of his former boss said Mr Rawlings was a great person who has exhibited great leadership skills throughout his life.
"We cannot put any cost to this loss. Some may not like his way of doing things but he's certainly a man that when you come close to him, you'll like him," he told JoyNews Kojo Yankson.
The former President died on Thursday morning at about 10:10 am.
Mr Rawlings died at the Korle-Bu teaching hospital where he was receiving treatment, after a short illness.
The was the founder of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) was last seen in public on October 19, during the final funeral rites leading to the burial of his mother, Victoria Agbotui.
The former military leader was born Jerry Rawlings John on 22 June 1947. He ruled the country from 1981 to 2001 and also for a brief period in 1979.
He led a military junta until 1992, and then served two terms as the democratically elected President of Ghana.
