The Spokesperson for Dr Yaw Osei Adutwum’s campaign team, Yaw Opoku Mensah, has reaffirmed the aspirant’s commitment to prioritising the welfare of party members when given the mandate to lead the New Patriotic Party (NPP).
According to him, Dr Adutwum’s leadership vision goes beyond political rhetoric, focusing on creating a sustainable and dignified welfare system that empowers members at the grassroots.
“The party birthed the government and, therefore, requires a pragmatic approach to building a proper welfare system for all members so that their work becomes dignified within their polling station area,” he stated.
Mr Opoku Mensah explained that Dr Adutwum plans to introduce a Scholarship Scheme to support the educational needs of committed party members, eliminating the culture of begging for assistance.
Additionally, he said a Patriotic Insurance Scheme will be instituted to cater for members’ health and other essential welfare needs.
“Dr Adutwum seeks to develop a system that will make party members true patriots and not merely election machines, only to be called upon during internal elections,” he stressed.
He added that Dr Adutwum’s leadership would bridge the long-standing gap between the party and the government through the creation of a Welfare Office both within the government structure and at the party level, ensuring accountability and continuous engagement.
Mr Opoku Mensah emphasised that under Dr Adutwum’s leadership, the welfare of every party member would remain supreme, guaranteeing dignity, unity, and purpose across all ranks of the NPP.
