The Vice-Chancellor of the University of Professional Studies, Accra (UPSA), Professor John K. M. Mawutor, has inaugurated a committee to spearhead the planning and organisation of activities to commemorate the 60th anniversary of the university.
The 20-member committee is chaired by the Registrar and CEO of the Chartered Institute of Marketing, Ghana (CIMG), Mr Kwabena Agyekum.
Speaking at the inauguration ceremony, Prof. Mawutor, urged the committee to develop a comprehensive plan for the UPSA@60 celebrations.

He emphasised the significance of the anniversary, stating that it is an opportunity to reflect on UPSA’s achievements and project its future with a renewed purpose.
The Vice-Chancellor tasked the committee with setting clear goals, establishing a realistic timeline, managing the budget efficiently, coordinating sub-committees, and ensuring seamless execution of all activities.
The committee is expected to spearhead the planning and execution of a year-long anniversary programme that will reflect the university’s legacy, celebrate its milestones, and strengthen its brand as a centre of academic and professional excellence in Africa.
