Defending champions of the betPawa Ghana Premier League, Asante Kotoko, reclaimed the second position on the league table following their thumping win over Accra Lions on Monday, February 6.
The Porcupine Warriors won back-to-back home games under the floodlight at the Baba Yara Stadium with Steven Mukwala continuing his stunning form.
Seydou Zerbo's men secured a 4-0 win against the Accra-based side as they jumped to second position behind Aduana FC with just four points separating the two teams.
Rashid Nortey opened the scoring for the home side in the 23rd minute of the game connecting with a square pass from former Medeama SC teammate, Richard Boadu.
Minutes later, Mukwala latched onto a well-placed pass into his path by Sherif Mohammed before beating the goalkeeper to double Kotoko's lead.
Kotoko went into the break with a 2-0 score limiting Lions to few chances of coming back into the game.
Things moved from bad to worse after the recess and Augustine Agyapong teed up Mukwala for the Ugandan's second goal of the game and a third for Kotoko.
Enoch Morrison wrapped up the victory in the 58th minute when his strike from outside the penalty box beat the goalkeeper to make it 4-0.
Kotoko will look to capitalise on this momentum when they face Dreams FC in their next league game away from home.
