German-born goalkeeper Jordan Amissah has joined Ghana's U23 national team, the Black Meteors, at Ghanaman Soccer Center of Excellence, Prampram to instensify preparations for the 2023 U23 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).
The 21-year-old Sheffield United man arrived in Ghana on Tuesday to join the team as they seek to build team chemistry ahead of the tournament sheduled to be hosted in Morocco in 16 days.
He will team up with Basel's Emmanuel Essiam, other foreign players and the local contingent who have been camping at Prampram since May 23.
Amissah, who was in goal for the Black Meteors in a friendly game against Uncle T United on Thursday, said in May he couldn't wait to wear the Ghana jersey amid fears he would choose to represent Germany or England at international level.

"Playing for Ghana is non-negotiable. A lot of people asked me, 'Do you want to play for Germany or Ghana?' But playing for Ghana, when that day happens, you know, happy days," Amissah told The I&O Podcast.
Ghana is in Group A alongside host nation Morocco, Congo, and Guinea. The tournament, which also serves as the qualifier for the 2024 Olympics, will kick off on June 24 and end on July 8.
